Irrigation Management
Irrigation management is key to optimizing the farmers' yields and profits. Expertise in multiple crops enables JSAS to tell farmers how much water is needed to make the best yield possible. We also utilize soil moisture monitors to increase accuracy in making irrigation recommendations.
Decagon moisture monitors are installed in a field of the grower’s choice, with moisture probes being placed at 6, 12, and 18 inch depths. Data is collected and transmitted wirelessly to a home database, where the availability of moisture can be monitored. By monitoring available moisture, we can make educated decisions on irrigation. The utilization of these monitors can prevent growers from over or under watering their crops, thus keeping their input costs as minimal as possible.
